I help adults, adolescents, and couples. I am deeply committed to my clients' well-being and dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful space where compassionate dialogue shapes our work together. Therapy, in my view, is a place where you can express yourself freely—giving voice to your innermost thoughts, emotions, and desires. It’s also an opportunity to uncover how long-standing patterns in your life influence your present experiences. By bringing these aspects of yourself into conversation, we can remove obstacles to your growth and help you find greater self-acceptance, personal empowerment, and creative resilience in navigating life’s challenges. If you would like to see if we’re a good fit or if you have any questions I might be able to answer, please reach out by phone, email, or through my website linked below.
I love to support folks in navigating self-image, depression, anxiety, sexuality and identity, stress and trauma, and more. We heal and grow when we are in community with others and when we are supported in finding balance and solidarity. I have been grateful for the opportunity to support my clients in finding rest, joy, and connection in their lives as they cope with the world's stresses and uncertainties. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I am an LGBTQIA+ and poly/ENM-affirming therapist. I welcome you to bring your authentic self - wherever you're at. My therapy style is warm and non-judgmental. I love incorporating systems and parts work to contextualize and find connections in your individual experiences. I provide therapy from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed focus that values your holistic self, and love to bring social justice themes that are important to you into our work. I believe that joy and laughter can have a place in the room, too. I know that starting therapy can seem daunting. I'm here to make the process as smooth as possible, and to answer any and all questions along the way. I can say from my experience on the "other side of the chair," that it is so worth it to take that step. All inquiries are welcome.

By understanding your personal history and the ways it intersects with society, I strive to embrace the complexities of your experiences. Beginning therapy can often seem daunting. It can be the first time you are admitting something isn’t working, or you aren’t feeling okay. I want to provide the space and time for you to sit with that possibility, work together to understand those thoughts and feelings, and use your experiences to guide you toward new, affirming spaces and connections. Together, we can support you in navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, ADHD, neurodivergence, identity and LGBTQ+ related concerns, as well as relationship challenges, family dynamics, and major life transitions. Whether you’re beginning therapy or returning to it, I look forward to connecting and working together.

Hi I am Sophia, LSW (they/she)! I believe life’s challenges can shape us, but they don’t have to define us. I believe people have an innate capacity for growth, healing, and change, even when circumstances make that possibility difficult to see. Therapy can be especially helpful when anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or other challenges begin to interfere with how you want to live. I view therapy as a space to slow down, make sense of your experiences, develop greater self-understanding, and discover tools that support meaningful and lasting change. I take a collaborative, relational, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to therapy. I recognize that there is no single path to our growth and change, and that each person brings their own experiences, identities, strengths, and goals into the therapeutic space. Rather than viewing clients as problems that need to be fixed, I work alongside each person to understand what they are experiencing and identify what may help them move forward. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their own healing. My therapeutic orientation is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, expressive arts therapy, relational frameworks, and trauma-informed approaches. These approaches allow me to help my clients explore the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and couples dealing with complex trauma, neurodivergence, and chronic pain. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals whose experiences have been shaped by interpersonal or systemic oppression. I understand that responses to difficult experiences often develop as ways of coping or adapting, and therapy can provide an opportunity to understand those patterns while building new ways of responding that feel more supportive and authentic. I have previously had the opportunity to support clients who were navigating bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, psychotic disorders, and sociopolitical concerns. I am motivated by the opportunity to build genuine connections with clients and to create a therapeutic environment where people feel safe enough to be honest, curious, and themselves. I encourage anyone considering therapy to remember that you do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Therapy can be the place where we can begin figuring it out together.
College can look manageable from the outside while feeling overwhelming behind the scenes. I work best with students who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, difficulty focusing, burnout, or the pressure to keep up academically and socially. You may feel like you are working harder than everyone else to stay organized, wondering whether ADHD could explain lifelong challenges, or finding that strategies that once worked are no longer enough. I offer thoughtful, individualized care that looks beyond symptoms to understand your health, daily life, and goals.
Hi, I am Lily, MA (she/they)! Life is often unpredictable. We’re never given a script for “how to best live our lives,” and it can feel daunting and lonely to navigate without one. Therapy can be a space to explore the stories you’ve lived and what you want to write next, with greater trust, confidence, and attunement to yourself. As a Latinx and queer clinician, I understand the systemic challenges of living in our current environment. I’m guided by values of cultural humility and LGBTQIA+-affirming care, and I’m passionate about acknowledging systemic barriers while working alongside you to keep finding ways to cultivate hope in your life. I work with children, young people, adults, couples, and families and support them in navigating trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity and culture-related experiences, and more. In my practice, I use a humanistic, person-centered lens, integrated with trauma-informed and Internal Family Systems perspectives, to explore how you see yourself, others, and the world around you. I also draw from DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, and culturally responsive approaches to offer tools that can support you in making sense of past or present wounds. There can be something profoundly meaningful in having someone you can confide in, and I aim to provide a space that feels safe enough to explore what’s difficult, as well as what’s possible. I would be deeply humbled and honored to walk alongside you.

Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can freely navigate the ups and downs of your inner and outer worlds without pressure to perform. My clinical focus includes gender and sexual identity exploration, relationship dynamics, relational trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a dash of humor to our sessions, and I encourage consideration of the ways societal and cultural narratives play out in your life. I am sex-positive, kink-knowledgable, and have experience working with individuals and relationship partners across the spectrum of non-monogamy. If you’re looking to deepen your self-compassion while also making changes to live in alignment with your values, my approach to therapy may resonate with you. Throughout our work together, I’ll incorporate concepts from queer theory, narrative therapy, ACT, and above all, person-centeredness. Wanting change doesn’t have to mean you don’t also deserve acceptance right now, as you are. Wherever you are in your journey, I’ll meet you there with compassion. I invite you to reach out via phone or email. Choosing a therapist from online profiles can be challenging, so I'm happy to set up a free fifteen-minute chat to see if we’d be a good fit!
Do you need a space to sort through the complexity of adulthood? Have you realized some mental health concerns as you navigate through college and beyond? Feeling obsessive thoughts swirling around? Does it seem like your emotions and behaviors are controlling you more often than not? Life is feeling just too much? I hear you. You are stressed out. Everything you do to try and be in control isn’t working anymore. I know anxiety, relational stress, and sadness are overwhelming, and confronting it seems almost impossible. I want to tell you, you are not alone. Together we will develop healthy strategies to break free from what's holding you back. Together we take what feels unmanageable, and make it manageable. Through a focus on patience, support, and action; I will empower you to uncover new ways of conquering old problems. I look forward to partnering with you. My Background and Approach My approach and focus in therapy is to create a safe space for you to explore your experiences with anxiety, depression, relational issues, and daily life stressors. I do this through a multi-modality approach using exploratory conversation and weaving in structured approaches (CBT, DBT, ERP). In the first several sessions, I will ask a lot of questions so that I can get to know you and what brings you to therapy. Then you will also ask me questions about who I am and how I work. Finally, together we’ll identify your goals for therapy and what you hope to achieve. To me, therapy is a collaboration, so I will ask for feedback along the way to make sure sessions are going well or if we need to try new strategies. I will be your supporter throughout our work. I am gentle, yet direct with my feedback. Together, we will work to identify the root cause of your worries, fears, phobias, and stressors and then through guided strategies, we will break free from what is holding you back and and build the life that you want to live. My Personal Beliefs and Interests As a long-time vegan, I am passionate about animal welfare and sampling all of the delicious animal-friendly food that my city has to offer. I view people through an intersectional lens and am explicitly antiracist and LGBTQIA+ affirming in my therapeutic practice. I am committed to providing safe spaces for clients, which hinges upon staying mindful of the privileges I continue to receive as a white, cis woman. I believe that current events have a profound impact on sociocultural norms, quality of life, and our general wellbeing. It is crucial to consider, and to name, how past and current events influence society and affect individuals, especially in terms of systems of oppression. My hope is to show clients that although, I may not fully understand your experiences, I can provide a safe space to work on your goals for therapy with support and without harm.

As therapists, we work to build a genuine relationship with each client, create a safe space for discovery, and aim to understand that individual. This allows clients to safely explore alongside the therapist, and begin to see themselves with greater clarity, depth, and honesty. Good, effective therapy will likely not happen overnight (though exciting and wonderful eureka moments certainly occur along the way), and trust, honesty, and humor are invaluable to a beneficial therapeutic relationship. We believe that laughter and tears are equally powerful but that therapeutic change is measured in neither. We believe the act and effort of genuinely and non-judgmentally understanding each client allows for lasting therapeutic change to take place. While each clinician at Dr. Blehart & Associates has a unique method and skillset, we believe it is the underlying interpersonal style and ability to connect and understand that rests at the heart of our work. Dr. Blehart & Associates offers the highest level of expertise, care, and access for adults and adolescents in Chicago. Services are available in English, Spanish, German, and Somali.
Hi, I'm Tyler Biggs (MA TIU '26) (he/him), an MA on staff with Spring Tree Counseling and I'm well aware of the pressure to over-perform and under-recover. For men in particular, the expectation to provide some tangible service to the world and "prove" one's worth is a constant theme in my counseling. This can make us excel beyond our dreams, or find ourselves in a nightmare. I've worked in a range of fields from non-profit leadership development to college student mentoring to project management. And over the years, I journeyed alongside many high capacity people—and felt the difficulty of that title myself. For many, all of this is just a burden, manifesting as anxiety, panic, or obsessive-compulsive cycles. My goal is to help men who are straining under the immense pressures of life. For adults navigating transitions—new careers, relationships, responsibilities—these can feel like crises. I walk alongside clients through the beautiful, sometimes brutal, times Most heroes from our favorite stories have an ally guiding them toward healing, both in the world and inside themselves. I'm a co-adventurer, working collaboratively with clients to bind up wounds, manage anxiety, and grow resilience on this journey. Life is hard, and finding healing alone is nearly impossible. But through help, it is possible to thrive.
I have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents, but expanding to teens, young adults, and middle-aged adults has been incredible! I assist with addressing a variety of problem areas including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management, academic difficulties, impulsivity/hyperactivity, symptoms related to trauma history or exposure, relationship concerns, family conflicts, life transitions, and daily stressors. In collaboration with the client and their families, I gather information and assist with developing targeted treatment plans to help clients work toward their goals and improve their overall well-being. Creating a safe and comfortable environment for my clients is what I strive for so clients can feel they can be free with their thoughts and feelings without the fear of being judged. I utilize interventions from models such as Client-Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy as counseling progresses and needs are identified. While there are many important factors involved in the counseling process, I believe that one of the most critical aspects of therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship. I utilize my ability to empathize and connect with clients of all ages and backgrounds to develop those strong therapeutic relationships with my clients.

Many of the students I work with are navigating major life transitions while carrying the weight of stress, anxiety, trauma, family expectations, relationship challenges, or feelings of not quite belonging. I especially enjoy working with first-generation college students, students from immigrant families, women, and neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD. Together, we create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can better understand yourself, build practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with your values. You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy—we can start exactly where you are.
