Hi. I am a clinical social worker/therapist who has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years. Throughout this time, I have worked in a variety of settings with children, teens, young adults, parents and families. I have specialized in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to sexual abuse, sexual assault, childhood neglect, physical abuse, partner abuse, and traumatic grief and loss. In addition to my trauma focused work, I really enjoy working with college-aged students and the many wonders and struggles that come along with this time and age. I work with students who are experiencing a range of issues from anxiety, depression, questioning identity, family conflict, difficulty with the adjustment to school, social struggles and/or in need of future and career guidance. I am trained in a variety of techniques and pull from each of them to provide an individualized approach that is collaborative as well as strength based for each client. I look forward to connecting and discussing whether we would be a good fit for working together. Please note that at this time, I primarily have day time appointments available and offer sessions via telehealth.

I believe that therapy can be a space to feel understood and challenged, find relief, reflect, and grow—in yourself, your relationships, and your world. And I believe that making the decision to seek therapy is an honest and brave one. ABOUT THERAPY WITH ME I am so glad you’ve landed here and I hope to support you on this path. I welcome college students, graduate students, and young adults of all identities for both short- and long-term therapy. These unique and complex life stages are times of significant development, change, and often uncertainty. I offer therapy that is tailored to your specific needs. I attend to immediate concerns and make space for greater understanding of your identities, sense of self, relationships, exposures to trauma and oppression, and early experiences. Above all, I think of therapy as a relationship and a collaboration: Together, we recognize where you struggle and where you shine, understand what you seek, develop awareness, access feelings, and explore new ways of relating and connecting. Patients find that I am active in our work together, and that I blend exploration of emotions and insights with warmth, curiosity, and humor. I currently offer weekday morning and early afternoon appointments online. I expect to offer in-person in Cambridge, MA later in 2025. ABOUT ME I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University and a Master in City Planning from MIT. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School and my post-doctoral fellowship at Boston College University Counseling Services. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International. I work in both English and Spanish. I'm a white, cisgender woman of Greek, Eastern European, and English descent, and I think about the kinds of power I do and don't hold in different spaces. I also think about how the intersecting layers of our identities, and of our personal and ancestral histories, are inextricably linked to who we are and what we bring to therapy. To all my work, I bring an understanding of my own identities and histories, and a deep respect for the transformative power of vulnerability, interdependency, and movements for racial, economic, and social justice.

Anna joined Bending Birch Counseling with a background in youth advocacy and college mental health. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development. Anna brings energy, authenticity, and a strong relational presence to her work. She is deeply passionate about supporting young people navigating identity development, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and the many transitions of emerging adulthood. Her clinical interests include humanistic–existential work, relational–cultural therapy, and the mental health needs of athletes. Anna practices from strengths‑based and person‑centered frameworks, integrating CBT and ACT when they support a client’s goals. She prioritizes building genuine connections and strives to create a transparent, nonjudgmental, and predictable space where clients can explore their identity, tap into their inner strengths, and move forward with confidence. Anna also believes that moments of lightness can play a meaningful role in the therapeutic process, and she brings warmth into the room when it supports connection and growth. She approaches each therapeutic relationship with awareness of her positionality and is committed to a collaborative process that fosters insight and ongoing personal development.
Although the road to wellness is not linear, there is hope, and change is possible. Depression and anxiety, worry, stress, and feeling overwhelmed- these are all familiar concerns and normal in the human experience. We've all experienced it. Sometimes they can be difficult to manage and that's when talk therapy can be incredibly useful. But most important: I'm glad you're here. Let's build a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Life is hard. Although I am not a specialist in Life itself, there are ways to balance and recalibrate ourselves with therapy tools. These tools have helped me and others I've served in the past. As an Asian American, LGBTQ+ identifying therapist, my experience may offer a unique perspective that helps you feel connected and heard. I offer a straightforward style with authenticity and real connection. Although this may be intimidating for clients who are new to therapy, it is a bridge that when crossed clients find satisfying and rewarding. The first step to reaching out and connecting is by call or email, and I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a therapist and life coach and have specialized in working with girls and young women for over 25 years. As a therapist, I take a collaborative approach with patients to relieve distress, improve well-being, and develop new insights. Together, we will identify patterns in living that you want to change, and discover how prior experiences have shaped your emotional life, relationships, and behavior, perhaps in ways that are outside of your awareness. I treat patients who experience anxiety, depression, difficulties in relationships, challenges related to work and career, and stress that is related to life transitions. My approach to therapy is interactive and open-ended, with a focus on helping you to learn about yourself and to find new, more fulfilling ways of living. With all of my patients, I work to build a relationship that holds the potential for you to discover new possibilities for yourself. I seek to have a practice that is diverse with regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and ability/disability status. The process of therapy includes exploration of all aspects of identity, including how both marginalization and privilege shape experience. This exploration includes processing how identity is experienced in the therapeutic dyad, and understanding how similarities and differences between the patient and therapist shape the therapeutic process. I welcome hearing from you to discuss the possibility of setting up an initial consultation. Together, we can determine if I can meet your needs as a therapist.
