I help clients who are struggling with overwhelming emotions. Specifically, this can be anxiety related to things like social issues and pervasive worry, or intrusive thoughts related to obsessive-compulsive disorder or trauma.

We live in a stressful world where everyone is struggling. The current global crisis compiled with our personal life experiences have created a sense of overwhelm, burnout, isolation and disconnection. And our life journeys are full of crisis, loss, grief, and trauma. These experiences activate fear, alter patterns of behavior, create limitations in perception, relationship issues, low self-esteem, addictions, negative thought patterns and a multitude of mental and physical health symptoms. An accumulation of these unprocessed emotions and unresolved traumas can weaken the spirit, affecting one’s core vitality for life. Kellyann is nurturing by nature and creates a safe and compassionate environment where trust is easily built within the therapeutic relationship, so that healing can take place. Kellyann is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who employs a holistic and spiritual approach to healing. She works with her clients to dissolve layers of trauma, reprogram beliefs, connect to their emotions in healthy ways, and empowers people to achieve whatever it is they are seeking. She works with her clients to search for the stuck points and old wounds that may be getting in the way of finding the happiness they desire and deserve. Kellyann’s counseling sessions are built on a holistic model where she applies multiple approaches based on what a client wants and needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to support clients with managing their symptoms in healthy ways. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is used to assist clients with learning how to process the emotions they find intolerable. Psychoanalysis allows Kellyann to look for healing at the root cause. Internal Family Systems teaches an individual what they may need and identify ways to receive it. Mindfulness allows clients to accept their truth even when what have happened to them may have been extremely wrong and unfair and Trauma Processing allows for clients to create a healthy connection to their experiences through a narrative. Spirituality invites the opportunity to see a possibility for hope even one is nowhere in sight. Kellyann works with people who are struggling with a variety of mental health problems as well as clients seeking life skills and tools for coping in our stressful world. She offers a free 15-minute phone consult to in order to determine whether we are a good fit prior to scheduling the first session.

I am a board certified psychiatrist, who specializes in working with young adults. I offer both online and in-person visits (in Brookline) to help accommodate busy college and graduate school schedules. I offer both psychotherapy and medication services. I strongly believe that almost everyone would benefit from spending one hour (of the 168 in a week!) focused on the big picture. There may be no situation where our decisions are more impactful than in our college and graduate school years. Through assessment and therapy, we can identity where we are, where we want to be, and what is standing in between. I dive deep with patients, helping to identify and address their obstacles and goals. This can range from wanting to improve relationships, to getting through a challenging semester, to coping with mental illness. I provide my undivided attention and care, as well as years of training and expertise, to help you utilize all the tools available to you. I am originally from South Florida and majored in English and Spanish at the University of Florida. I then completed my medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, followed by residency at Harvard Longwood (Brigham and Women's Hospital/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center). In addition to full time private practice I am also an instructor to resident physicians at Harvard Medical School. I am an out of network provider. I provide patients invoices which may be submitted to their insurance company for potential reimbursement. I am also a subscriber to Reimbursify, an app that can help patients manage reimbursements more easily.

I ground my practice in establishing a warm and affirming therapeutic alliance, the relationship between client and clinician. From there, we establish a flow, understanding, and goals. This can look like anything from DBT skill-building, to sharing humor, meditating, or validating the parts of us that need love or care. As a former educator, I especially enjoy working with young people who are managing the variety of contending expectations which come along this stage. As a former professional musician, I understand the value of art and creativity in the healing process, the helpfulness of structure and consistency when needed, and the challenges that come with art as a career. Therapy can be a scary thing to jump into. Because of this, I prioritize making landing in therapy be as collaborative and catered to your needs as possible. Therapy should be a space that feels like yours, where you can feel safe to grow and problem solve in the ways and at the pace that feels best. I look forward to chatting!

Therapy for the deep feelers, the over thinkers, and the maskers. Perhaps you find yourself constantly people pleasing to prevent angering or disappointing others. Perhaps you feel terrified to make a decision and feel paralyzed about making a mistake. Perhaps you've just always felt emotions deeply and tend to keep it to yourself. It's time to get support of your own! I specialize in helping anxious and highly sensitive women feel like themselves again by finding clarity, connecting to their body, and untangling negative core beliefs that keep them stuck. I use EMDR and IFS as primary therapies. I am a board certified licensed therapist in Texas and Massachusetts. I offer telehealth appointments, or in-person appointments at my Austin, TX office location. Reach out to schedule a free consultation if you are interested in starting therapy!

I enjoy working with students during this time of transition in their lives. Away from home, students must learn to structure their time to study and embark on a social life. This is a good opportunity to develop self-awareness and discover which relationships are best for them. Most of my clients are creative: writers, musicians, actors, artists, photography, and film. Many are introverts and/or highly sensitive people. I help them embrace their introversion as a gift rather than a liability.

While specializing in men's issues, anger management, and adolescent and college student populations, I also work individually with women dealing with anxiety, loss and relationship issues. With an emphasis on strengthening relationships and self-esteem, therapy is designed for people searching for a more balanced approach to working through change. I offer family therapy, have extended success connecting with male and female adolescence whose behaviors have been labeled oppositional or explosive, and work with parents/families who struggle with how to relate and communicate with their teenager and each other. Men's Issues/male and female adolescent populations and families work through challenges they have in expressing emotion, managing anger, and interpersonal communication. Men become comfortable with and learn the benefits of therapy rather than holding on to old stereotypes. I offer Sports Psychology consulting for men/women/teens. Client's gain insight, increase self-awareness, and find solutions. They learn coping skills, control emotional impulses, and learn relaxation from a therapist who has spent 15 years studying and practicing meditation. Clients can formulate plans that foster self-care, exercise and nutrition to strengthen defenses and manage negative emotions.

Do you often find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, worried, or misunderstood? Maybe these are new struggles or something you’ve been dealing with for a while. Either way, I am glad you are here. I am a Harvard-trained licensed psychologist with expertise in evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, and emotional difficulties. I have been extensively trained in various evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for specific phobias and trauma. As a therapist, I am warm and supportive, and I strive to create a non-judgmental space where, together, we can explore what’s troubling you. My approach is grounded in emotion-focused CBT, helping you better understand your thoughts and emotions in various situations and what needs to change for you to feel better. Together, we can then help you make small, practical changes consistently in your life that can add up to feeling better and more empowered over time. If this sounds like it might be helpful, I invite you to reach out 15-minute consultation call where we can see if we might be a good fit. I look forward to meeting you!

Welcome, First of all, be sure to take a deep breath and know that whether you choose to work with me or someone else you will get through this process! Choosing a therapist is not an easy task. I look forward to setting up a time to speak with you after you review my clinical background and training. Most college students appreciate the sense of humor and warmth that I bring to our discussions. They feel connected and engaged with a real person who cares about them in a personal way. They also appreciate my ability to help them identify practical solutions to the academic and emotional issues that they voice in our meetings. My wide range of clinical experiences allow me to help my patients move through treatment with a sense of energy and a feeling that their strengths are both appreciated and enhanced throughout the treatment process. This close relationship allows them to open-up and identify a pathway forward in their life that is meaningful, clear, and solid. To provide you with some background I would note that I am a licensed psychologist who has worked with college students for years. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, college transition stress, social skill challenges and anger management. I also help students who need specialized support in managing the organizational, writing, or academic demands of a college environment. I meet with students in individual, group, and family therapy sessions depending on the need. I also support students and their families in situations where they are stepping down from a stay in an in-patient hospital or are trying to avoid a hospitalization. My approach to treatment is holistic in that I use a range of time-tested treatment interventions to identify and address your needs in a personalized manner. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my approach to treatment in our first phone contact. I maintain an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School and serve as a Clinical Associate at McLean Hospital, the medical school's largest teaching psychiatric hospital. I have supervised numerous psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists over the course of my career and as such I am the Director of Training in my group practice, and I am currently training five psychology graduate students. Navigating OCD, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions can be emotionally and physically draining. There is little more frustrating than thinking and behaving in the same ways despite knowing they contribute to these issues and other debilitating symptoms. Therapy is a place to safely explore the thoughts, behaviors, and relationships that are interfering with living a more fulfilling and rewarding life. I am a trained OCD specialist and an active member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). I have extensive experience working with college undergrad and graduate students from my time as a counselor at the University of Colorado, Boulder and at Bryant University. Working directly on a college campus has provided me with a unique understanding of the intersection between academics and mental health, as well as how to navigate many campus systems best. Currently, in my private practice, I work with college students from the many different colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Colorado. The majority of clients that I work with are navigating Anxiety or OCD and Related Disorders. My clinical approach to therapy is grounded in ERP, ACT, and CBT. I believe therapy is built around compassion, respect, and trust. I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we can collaboratively achieve your treatment goals. Send me an email, give me a call, or visit my website (www.smithlicsw.com) to set up an appointment. If you are struggling and are tired of trying to handle things alone, please do not hesitate to get in touch. * I provide telehealth services to clients in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Illinois, Vermont, and Colorado.*

I bring over 25 years of experience supporting young adults through major life transitions, mental health challenges, and the everyday complexities of college life. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked at Boston College as an Associate Dean and instructor, helping students navigate academic pressure, identity development, and moments of uncertainty with compassion and clarity. I also understand the university system deeply, which allows me to help students who are coping with mental health challenges access campus supports while we work together on their therapeutic goals. My clinical work is grounded in evidence‑based, trauma‑informed approaches and a strong belief in students’ resilience. Sessions are thoughtful, personalized, and goal oriented. In our work together, I will create a space where you can understand what you’re experiencing, build on your strengths, and move through college with greater clarity and support.

I am a licensed educational psychologist and psychotherapist. There are times in life when you may struggle with social-emotional issues that are overwhelming. You may be dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, social stress, relational conflicts, low self-esteem, poor impulse control, trauma, or the challenges of college life. Navigating the myriad of social stressors frequently requires learning new skill sets, which at times may include further development of your Emotional Intelligence (EQ). My goal is to support you as the author of your story and create an approach that fits your unique needs. I focus on helping clients build those inner resources and when possible a network of support that help them weather the challenges in life and promote lasting change. My treatment modality is holistic and integrative. Everyone is unique and as individuals no one therapeutic style may work for everyone. I may incorporate parts of different therapeutic approaches to create a custom fit based on each client's needs.

Trying to hold it together in college can be exhausting. If anxiety is constant, your focus is shot, your mood feels unpredictable, or you’re wondering why everything feels harder than it should — this is where we come in. We’re a small psychiatric practice with two experienced nurse practitioners who specialize in medication management for students. We take the time to understand what’s going on, explain things in plain language, and create a plan that fits your life — not just your symptoms. You deserve support that feels thoughtful, not rushed.

I am a staff psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and faculty member at Harvard Medical School. I provide individual therapy for adults and have experience working with a wide variety of presenting concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma. My goal is to create a warm and genuinely accepting environment in order for you to feel comfortable collaborating with me to tackle your stressors together. I generally utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT), integrating other evidence-based theoretical orientations as needed to provide personalized treatment based on your needs and preferences. I prioritize using strengths-based, trauma-informed, multiculturally sensitive methodology. Effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist. Please reach out so I can support you on your journey. If I am not the right fit for you, I am happy to give you referrals so you can find the best therapist for you!

Hello! Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or have been in therapy before, I welcome you here. I would also like to recognize your courage and self-awareness for seeking help. College is a unique time in that lots of changes are happening. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, or unsure how to proceed; maybe you’re experiencing big transitions in school, relationships, or your sense of self in the world. In my practice, I use a mixture of talk psychotherapy and expressive therapies to help you address these big changes, to know and release emotions in a variety of ways so that you are able to effectively cope when things get hard. We may utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy to help address and change negative thoughts that are holding you back, and trauma-informed practices to help heal emotional wounds. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to counseling so that you feel empowered, confident, and fully supported in our therapeutic work together. I became a therapist because I don’t ever want people to feel they need to weather the storm alone. You deserve care, compassion, validation, and encouragement to keep going. Thank you for considering me a trusted ally in your journey to greater well-being.

Accepting new patients.....It is through therapy that we come to understand how our experiences make our lives meaningful. Choosing a therapist isn't an easy task; I hope sharing my perspective helps. Over the last decade I have worked at universities, elementary schools, rehabilitation centers and group homes with children and adults from 7-70. These experiences have shown me that the right environment activates our innate capacity to mature and thrive. Therapy is not about "fixing" someone, it's about creating a space that supports growth. My approach embraces the power of personality to facilitate change. Through active listening, I acknowledge the impact of personal experiences and encourage exploration. Like exercising - regular, creative dialogue yields new strengths and abilities. In this way, individuals find their own solutions that are often more personalized than CBT. As you search for a therapist, consider me - I think you'll find me accessible, pragmatic, and insightful.
