Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
I work with adolescents and adults whose lives have been impacted by trauma, grief and loss, or chronic stress and who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or others. They may struggle with anxiety, trauma responses, depression, relationship patterns, ADHD, chronic pain, or feeling unsafe in their bodies or the world. They want a supportive space to process experiences at their own pace, build coping skills, and move toward greater safety, presence, and self-trust. I am also working toward being Internal Family Systems (IFS or "parts work") level 1 trained. It would be an honor to support you.

I work with college students who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, relationship stress, family challenges, or big life transitions. College can be exciting, but it can also come with a lot of pressure and uncertainty. My approach is warm, relaxed, and collaborative—I draw from person-centered, strength-based perspectives to help you better understand yourself and what you’re going through. I believe you already carry a lot of insight and strength within you. Together, we’ll sort through what feels heavy, break things down into manageable steps, and find practical ways forward. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel genuinely heard, and grow in confidence as you navigate this important stage of life.
We could all use a little help at some point and a safe place to receive support. Seeking help and counseling is a courageous act. I’m here to help you explore aspects of your life that may be too hard to look at on your own, gain clarity in areas that you can’t quite make sense of yet and illuminate skills, resources and values that have been muddled for you. I am deeply committed to helping my clients heal and thrive as they cope with anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, body image concerns, relationship difficulties, identity changes, etc. I utilize an empathic and collaborative approach to provide culturally sensitive treatment tailored to your needs and goals. Together we will work towards increasing self and relational awareness, identifying and processing emotions, highlighting strengths and values and fostering acceptance.

I work best with students who feel like they are carrying the weight of the world—whether that comes from a history of abuse, difficult experiences with religion, or just the overwhelming pressure to keep it all together. You might feel like you have to be "on" all the time for your classes or friends, but inside, you are struggling to find solid ground. I provide a "Safe Harbor" where you can drop the act and be real. As a former firefighter, I am not afraid of the heavy stuff; I offer a judgment-free space to process trauma, anxiety, or deep questions about your faith and identity. You don't have to navigate this alone. As a Counselor in Training, I offer flexible, affordable options because I believe a tight student budget shouldn't stop you from finding peace. Let's work together to help you stop just surviving school and start actually living your life.
