I am a graduate of the University of Michigan. With over 13 years of experience and a specialty in helping clients with PTSD, anxiety, depression and those who have survived catastrophic car accidents, I provide an empowering, individualized approach for each of my clients. I love to help my clients navigate meaningful changes in their lives and believe every day is an opportunity for personal growth. I enjoy working with diverse clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and am dedicated to strength-based and person-centered therapy in a safe and supportive environment. I am regularly asking for feedback from my patients. I use this feedback to improve treatment methods, guide therapist training and improve overall customer satisfaction. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking for friends and family, enjoying nature while hiking, traveling to discover new parts of the world and officiating wedding ceremonies.

Hello! First and foremost, I am so proud of you for reaching out to find support and connect with someone. Itโ€™s not always easy to say โ€œhey, I am struggling!โ€ but we all do, and we all deserve a safe space to process life. I am a life long Michigander, avid concert goer, board game enthusiast, and mom of two. I love being a therapist because I love connecting with others and creating a space to allow individuals to be themselves and talk about the heaviness of the day to day without judgement. I am an ally, advocate, and celebrator of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and genders. I am not religious but welcome and respect any religions you want to incorporate into your therapy. I offer telehealth sessions for college students- current priority will go to MSU students. If you do not have insurance and finances are the barrier to treatment, please reach out ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

I enjoy being a comforting confidant to others who are struggling. My goal as a therapist is to invite you into a safe environment and to be a conduit of empowerment, education, and healing. The therapeutic process is an invitation to heal, grow, and confidently move forward in achieving your goals and dreams. I use a diverse approach in sessions composed of the following theories: Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and inner healing prayer. I obtained a BA in Psychology from the University of Nevada Reno and an MA in Counseling from Cornerstone University. My favorite internship experience was at the campus center working with college students just like you! I have 6.5 years of experience working in an inpatient setting as a group therapist, crisis counselor, and discharge planner in the California Bay Area. I worked with many people who had layers of trauma, severe mental illness, and homelessness. This experience taught me the true value of nonjudgmental listening and the significance of supportive advocacy. In addition, I have 6 years of experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) providing Applied Behavioral Analysis and support to children with Autism. I am excited to relocate to Michigan to be close to family once again and to have the opportunity to counsel at Hope and Wholeness Psychology Center. In my free time, I enjoy time with family and friends, hiking, crafting, cooking, and tea parties.

I believe it is important to help each client feel comfortable, valued, and respected during the therapeutic process. My approach focuses on partnering with you to find healing, hope and meaning in your life. Sometimes that means working to understand present difficulties in light of past experiences; sometimes it means focusing on learning new ways to effectively cope with unplanned life challenges. I have experience in working with individuals focusing on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, substance abuse, strengthening relationships, improving communication, pregnancy loss, post-abortive issues, and spiritual concerns. Perhaps you are feeling: -not good enough -disconnected and alone -uncontrollable worry -stressed, easily irritable, angry, and frustrated -unable to focus and distracted -challenged by making life and behavioral changes Our work together can help you feel more in control, identify effective coping skills, manage even your most difficult feelings, understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors, feel connected both to self and those closest to you, and find healing and meaning in your life. Please contact me today to get started or with any question you may have. Background and Education I earned a bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University and a Masters degree in Counseling from Cornerstone Universityโ€™s Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan. Prior to starting Persenaire Counseling Services, LLC, I worked for a non-profit agency in Grand Rapids as part of a treatment team in an adolescent substance abuse program. I am continually working to further my education in providing optimal care. I am focused on the perspective of holistic care; the mind, body and spirit, when learning and investigating evidence based interventions of mental health disorders.
