Therapists for college students near University of Minnesota
Hello and welcome, Given the current climate of our world, many people are experiencing daily stress. Reaching out for support can be helpful, supportive, and useful. It can also provide a space for us to connect with and heal our concerns. I work to create a healthy space and relationship for you to express yourself without fear of judgement. Together we will understand your situation and work together to help you move into a more peaceful and confident way of being.
If you're here because your past traumas are creeping up on you, what you show the world doesn't align with what's on the inside, or your anxiety/depression has depleted you---I want to work with you. You might be someone who has a hard time asking for help, so the fact that you're even thinking about getting it is a big step. You don't have to keep feeling the way you are. Sometimes, we just need a therapist to guide us along our path to feeling better. I want you to feel equipped to handle life’s ever-changing ups and downs, and to be able to do it with a sense of purpose, stability, and self-awareness. I work best with clients who are young professionals (in their 20's-30's) or youth (10 and up). They're ready for real change. Clients who are a good fit for me might come to therapy because they have a hard time calming down, feel trapped by their traumas, struggle with perfectionism, or are just feeling like something is missing in their lives. My style of therapy is warm and nonjudgmental. We'll come together to look at how the present is intertwined with your past, and find ways that work for you to cope. When it comes to trauma, I don't believe you need to even fully remember it to heal from it. If you need help but don't know what questions to ask, that's ok! Reach out for a free consultation.
Do any of these statements sound familiar? You worry too much. You must drag yourself out of bed every morning and often wake up feeling sad for no apparent reason. You have not been able to move past a traumatic experience. Your mind wanders, and you cannot focus on a task. My friend, welcome, you have come to the right place, and we will take good care of you. If you do not want medication, that is fine. We incorporate therapy, functional psychiatry, complementary/alternative treatment in our approach. We want to prioritize your happiness and wellness, which is why we are very affordable and also accept insurance. I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner licensed to diagnose, treat, and prescribe psychiatric medications. The conditions we treat include depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, ADHD, Autism. I provide initial psychiatric evaluations, ongoing medication management, therapy, mindset/life coaching, and nutritional counseling. Each day, you grow older. Each day of your life has the ability to be monumental, but each day only happens once. Every moment of every day, you're given a chance to make a lasting memory. Create a memory that you'll be proud to share. Pick up the phone or shoot us a text, we will be here. Our sessions/visits are over a secured online platform.
I specialize in helping individuals recovery from eating disorders, disordered eating, compulsive/obligatory exercise, body image distress and associated anxiety and depression. I practice virtually in Colorado so accessing counseling is flexible and convenient. I understand the challenges of academic rigor at Mines and have worked with many Mines students -undergrad and grad. Fun fact: I majored in Chemistry and decided in the end I was more interested in people than molecules. I've been supporting people in eating recovery for over a decade. My clients tend to find me approachable, non-judgmental, and action oriented.
Please see my Psychology Today profile (link below) to get a good sense of who I am and the form of therapy I provide. Please note that in the state of Minnesota, I'm only paneled with Aetna, Quest, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. I'm currently not paneled with any insurance companies in the state of Maryland, although I have started the process.
You've perfected the art of seeming like you have it all together, but on the inside it feels like things are falling apart. You're dealing with a lot of stress, your worry keeps you up at night, and you have difficulties saying nice things to yourself. You have big dreams and life goals, but somehow you can't quite keep up with day-to-day demands. Outside influences and pressures are bringing you down, you find yourself procrastinating on important tasks, and avoidance has become your go-to coping mechanism. Your anxiety is getting in the way of your happiness and you're tired of feeling stressed, anxious or burned out. There’s not a one-size-fits-all approach to healing. The models I pull from are dependent upon your unique needs and healing process. My clients appreciate my warm and inviting, yet direct approach. I am an active participant in your therapy and I will not tip-toe around your challenges. Your time is valuable and I want you to get the most out of therapy. You deserve to take care of yourself with the unconditional support of someone who is trained to help you navigate through these difficult times. When you’re ready, I invite you to connect with me. I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation so you can get a feel for whether I'm a good fit for you. I'd love to hear from you!
One of the most important things to know about StarHaus and the way we practice therapy, is that we firmly believe in your ability to heal yourself. You are the expert on your own life and deep inside you already have all the answers. Our role in our therapeutic relationship will be to help you locate those answers and utilize the wisdom already within you. It would be our honor to partner with you on your journey; to assist you in locating your own internal guiding star.
Embodied Journeys is an independent, private therapy practice in Bellingham, WA serving clients throughout Washington, Minnesota, and British Columbia. Bottom line: We trust your internal wisdom and believe you deserve to live fully without exhaustion, shame, guilt, and resentment.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in your thoughts, or just not like yourself lately? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out alone, either. I work with students who are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions that can feel confusing or heavy. Many of the people I work with are used to putting others first, staying busy, or “holding it together” even when they’re struggling inside. If that sounds familiar, this may be a good place to start. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I offer a space that’s judgment-free, supportive, and focused on what you need. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on and create a personalized plan that may include therapy, medication support, or both—always at a pace that feels right for you. I currently see clients through secure, easy-to-use telehealth, so you can access care from wherever you feel most comfortable. If you’re ready to feel better, I’d love to help you get started.

I obtained my bachelor's degree from Mercyhurst University and master's degree in social work from Edinboro University. I have experience working with adults in community mental health and residential treatment for substance use disorders. I use evidence-based practices including: CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Behavioral Activation. I provide strength-based, personalized therapy that empowers clients to take control of their mental health and work towards their goals. My approach to counseling is collaborative and client centered. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide guidance, support, and a framework for your journey. Our first session is a chance to explore what's bringing you to therapy and what you hope to gain. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself. Over time, we'll work together to identify repeated emotional patterns, develop coping strategies, and new ways of responding to life's challenges.

Think of it as a space designed for you: inclusive, supportive, and focused on helping you feel grounded, confident, and ready to take on what’s next. Whether you’re adjusting to independence, managing stress, or just trying to feel more like yourself, therapy can be the reset you’ve been looking for.

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me! I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field in various settings--including inpatient, outpatient, inner-city clinics, schools, and private practice. I specialize in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders and ADHD. My passion for the field stems from my personal experience with it--overcoming a debilitating anxiety/panic disorder and accompanying depression. It was the scariest, most difficult time of my life. However, I made a promise to myself that if one day I could overcome my debilitating anxiety, then I would help others to do the same. I approach every client uniquely and use an eclectic, person-centered, integrative, evidence-based model as well as the ACT model. We will set overall goals that will not only help you with what you are struggling with mentally but also aid you in reaching better health all-around. When ready, I will challenge you and help set weekly goals to work towards. Aside from the omnipresent stigma, the process of getting help can be overwhelming and exhausting, leaving one feeling frustrated and lonely. However, I also know how life-changing it can be to find the right help. You only get this one life and I am here to help you live it in your most authentic, fully expressed, ideal way. I look forward to connecting!
