Therapists for college students near 27705
At Triangle Counseling Agency, we work with people from all backgrounds and stages of life. In my practice, I have supported clients through major life transitions, such as the adjustment from home to college, as well as challenges related to anxiety, depression, suicidality, substance use, relationship issues, and ADHD. I understand that each individual, shaped by unique life experiences, has different needs. Some may benefit from creating structured routines, while others need help recognizing and overcoming negative thought patterns that block progress. Whatever challenges you may be facing, I am here to work with you to identify your unique needs. Together we will develop a plan that is tailored to your goals and works for you.
I’m passionate about supporting the mental health of neurodivergent adults. We might work together on managing anxiety, making time for your goals and hobbies, exploring meaningful relationships and more! As humans, there are life events and transitions that seem impossible to carry alone. You shouldn't! I'm here to lighten the load :)

I have been a practicing licensed clinical social worker for over 30 years in the Triangle area. I currently have space for a few new clients. I have a very open-minded, psychodynamic approach to therapy and definitely don't have a "one size fits all" approach. Every one I see in my practice is treated as a unique individual with their own needs. I do use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), mindfulness, solution focused brief therapy and a family systems approach as a foundation point, but customize what works best depending on what feels right for you. I have two wonderful furry "co-therapists" who are often available to sit at your feet during sessions if we meet in person. I also offer tele therapy which is confidential, convenient and easier for many students. I have years of experience working with college aged students around adjustment and relationship issues, handling the stress of academics, anxiety, ADHD and life transitions. Although I am licensed to treat children, adolescents and adults I have enjoyed working with college and graduate students more than any other age group. I work 3 days per week and am happy to speak with you for a brief (free) phone consultation to see if my practice is a good fit for you!

One of my passions is assisting students transitioning to college and other life transitions. My work with students with mental health disabilities in high school and helping them move beyond learning emotional regulation, executive functioning and other skills has been very rewarding. Many students deal with anxiety and stress and there is no reason to deal with this on your own.

If you’re here, it might be because stress and worry have started to take over your daily life. Maybe your mind is constantly racing with “what ifs,” feelings of self-doubt, or uncertainty about what to do next. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. My passion is helping people find relief from anxiety and rediscover a sense of calm and confidence. We’ll start by focusing on what helps you feel more stable and grounded, so those overwhelming thoughts and feelings don’t have as much control. From there, we’ll work toward your bigger goals, whether that’s navigating relationships, healing from past experiences, or just feeling more like yourself again. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 11 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in private practice and university settings. I specialize in supporting people through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress, trauma, self-esteem issues, and grief. Finding the right therapist can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to connect.
