We offer caring, insightful, warm, supportive treatment to people who are suffering from anxiety/depression or who just want to feel better. We are here to help. Our counselors bring each a slightly different therapeutic approach so collectively we offer many different therapeutic modalities. Whole Mentality, PLLC was created to support clients, and the therapists providing support, as safe as possible an experience receiving care. While we would love to say that mental health care means supportive care for all people, the opposite is often reality. Whole Mentality, PLLC strives to serve people from all backgrounds, identities, orientations, ethnicities, abilities, and experiences with the respect and care we all deserve. We exist to create affirming, accessible, healing centered spaces that celebrate and value clientele and their providers. We acknowledge the impact of the people and systems around us, and how we in turn impact others. While we continue to learn and grow in how we can best support each other - we’ve started with being clear on our values, and commitment to serving our community well.
After trauma, we reach for whatever coping skill is closest in order to survive. We may turn to substances, self-harm, intellectualizing, perfectionism, etc. This helps us soothe, distract, and numb from feelings of shame, guilt, anger and fear. Still, our unprocessed emotions can overwhelm–morphing into anxiety, depression, rage, dissociation, or hyper-vigilance. However, this only represents a part of us and our experiences. We contain creativity, empathy, resilience, & intuition. Through our strengths, we increase our tolerance, release survival skills that no longer serve us, and return to our most liberated and aligned self. I specialize in addiction, anxiety, trauma, marriage counseling, and depression. I am also trained in Brainspotting, a trauma treatment, which involves less invasive talk therapy & quicker response times for healing, when compared to EMDR. For marriage & couples counseling, I am trained in the Gottman Method. We all have an innate and intuitive ability to heal and transform, yet healing is not a destination. Rather, it is a continual process that we may deviate from and rediscover repeatedly throughout our lifetime. I am here to sit with you in your pain, your recovery, your joy and everywhere in between. Please reach out. You are worthy of support.

To find healing and repair from hurts in a non-blaming way. To focus on the people that really matter in your life, instead of the busyness of life. Jennifer has a heart for relationships. Being able to sit with people as they walk through their journey is a s gift. It takes a lot of courage to take that first step. Her passion is helping to strengthen relationships and make space for people and families to connect and heal on a deeper level. Jennifer cares deeply, she is approachable and genuine.

I'm here as an impartial ear to listen, problem solve and support. I offer a safe and accepting space for you to process whatever it is that's going on right now. I think of myself as a collaborator, ready to meet you wherever you're at within your process. Although I specialize in DBT, I use multiple approaches in order to best support your needs within a session. I have a background working in social justice initiatives and utilize an anti-oppresive lens that is an inclusive and safe space for all identities. I know that finding the right therapist is vulnerable work that requires persistence and tenacity and I am honored to be considered. Please feel free to reach out to see if I'm the right fit. We can all benefit from gaining insights, learning skills, and having “tune ups” along the way. If you’re feeling stuck, struggling with how you feel about yourself or in relationship with someone, experiencing unwanted or intrusive thoughts or memories from a past experience, ruminating on negative thoughts or beliefs, or feeling anxious or depressive symptoms, you don’t have to walk through it alone! Our therapists use various counseling approaches that include evidence based treatments like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Because we are out of network, we can also get creative within our work with you. We’ll utilize appropriate techniques such as music or walk-and-talk therapy and can even take “field trips” with you if we deem it beneficial in your treatment (ie- restaurant outings, exposure therapy for certain phobias, home visits, etc.)
Join me in learning the tools and skills to intentionally create the life that you desire. I work with clients who are looking to strengthen trust in themselves. My overarching goal for every client who comes to see me is for them to have a more loving, compassionate relationship to themselves, others, and their past. I use a holistic collaborative approach to counseling that recognizes our unique multidimensional nature, and honors the connection between mind, emotions, energy, and body. Birdie, my office puppy, is a gentle presence who offers passive emotional support to clients who enjoy animal companionship. I work with adults, college students, teens, adolescents, couples, and families, to: 1. Identify harmful thought and behavior patterns, 2. Understand what's at the root of these patterns, 3. Cultivate tools and behaviors that encourage, rather than inhibit, growth. I offer compassionate, honest feedback, providing an outside lens that will allow you to see yourself more clearly. I believe everyone has the tools within them to heal and grow. You can reconnect with your authentic and confident self. Let's rekindle the spark within you and heal the past that is holding you back from the life you desire. I would be honored to assist you in opening up paths to trusting yourself and healing your past in your journey to wholeness.
