I have over 20 years of experience in mental health and has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, school based therapy, higher education and independent practice. I began my career working with children and families who experienced abuse, neglect and other traumas. Through this challenging work, I was extensively trained in the treatment of trauma and developed a philosophy of therapy that supports each individual where they are and focuses on their resilience and capacity to heal. In addition to trauma informed practices, I have training in the following areas: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art and Play Therapy techniques, Mindfulness, Tele-Health Practices, Family Systems and Attachment Theory. I have experience with the following clinical concerns: stress management, depression, anxiety, mood regulation, social anxiety, relationship and family distress, attention and motivation challenges, self-esteem, perfectionism, and grief. I have a particular passion for helping individuals develop healthy boundaries and heal from toxic relationships.
The Pennsylvania Counseling Cooperative is a worker-cooperative group practice that provides individual, family, and marriage counseling to residents of Pennsylvania.
Finding a good therapy match is crucial to bringing about the change that you desire in your life. Working with someone where you feel seen, understood and challenged in a non-threatening way creates the safety to explore the unknown and grow into your full potential. I have been in private practice for 16 years and I trained and worked at Tufts University Counseling Center for 4 years. In the wise words of author Sharon Salzberg, "If I opened my heart and mind big enough to take in the suffering, then there would be healing- not because the suffering itself is redemptive or healing, but because of the opening I was cultivating in the face of it."

If you’ve been holding it together for everyone else — you’re in the right place. I work with college students who are smart, self-aware, and tired. Tired of feeling the pressure to have it all figured out. Tired of coping in all the wrong ways. My clients come in navigating problems like: anxiety and unhealthy behaviors, substance misuse, perfectionism and burnout, and PTSD/trauma. I currently accept new clients to participate in virtual sessions with, who are located in the states of NJ and PA. As your therapist, I will inquire what brings you to therapy and what goals you would like to work towards. Our work together will feel like conversations with someone who sees you, takes you seriously, and does right by you. My therapeutic style is a curated balance of guidance and compassion. I will advocate for you, support you, and celebrate your accomplishments. We may also curiously examine potential challenges or barriers, and how to overcome these, together. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. I graduated from Widener University where I earned a master’s in Social Work. While at Widener, I completed a certificate in the treatment of trauma. I began my career at Ambrosia Treatment Center, a substance abuse disorder facility. Over the past five years I have worked in all levels of care within the substance use field. I created a program to treat substance use and eating disorders concurrently. After this program I began building a private practice where I work primarily with individuals who have co-occurring eating disorders and substance use. Outside of Guide to Wellness, I help treatment centers across the country implement veterans programs at their facilities. I use a collaborative approach in treatment. I like to meet clients where they are in their lives and work collaboratively with the individual to create an individualized treatment experience. My approach draws heavily from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT and exposure therapy. I work to create a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with the individual. I see myself as someone who presents opportunities to the individual and allow them to be the decision maker. I feel my role is to help the individual see the whole picture in their choices.

I worked as an academic advisor at Penn State for ten years. I understand the school and the pressures involved for students very well! I am seeing all patients by video and phone. You may contact me for a free initial consultation. I see psychotherapy as a psycho-educational experience where you learn about yourself. It is like taking a course in yourself. This counseling process of self-exploration leads to understanding self-defeating thinking and behaviors that may keep you from actualizing potential for successful relationships, success in school, business and career and from having a really happy life. During the 25+ years since I have been a licensed psychologist, I have had the privilege of helping many individuals and couples to achieve a happier, emotionally healthier, and financially successful life. My patients describe me as being a no nonsense person, while at the same time being warm and comfortable. My orientation is Psychodynamic and Cognitive. My thinking is based on psychoanalytic theory, but in practice I react and actively participate in the discussions. I don't just sit silently and nod. Cognitive/behaviorial methods are used as situations require. I have been the family's psychologist for multiple generations, when the participants are comfortable with this mode. Teletherapy - Phone and Video sessions are provided for patients who either cannot come to the office or when they have relocated to a distance too far to travel. During the COVID-19 Pandemic I am conducting all sessions by video and phone.
Therapy is an invitation to identify and gently question beliefs and perceived obstacles that stand in the way of our wellness, happiness and living our lives fully. We base our work together on you- what you see happening in your life, what you want to be different, your strengths, your goals and bigger life plans. Together we identify ways to make positive small shifts to clarify and work toward obtaining your best future. We believe in positive psychology interventions that are solution focused and strength based. We believe your mind is the most powerful resource. We can help you to learn how to use it to make powerful, lasting change.
