The pandemic pushed many of us to take a step back from our lives and reflect. Once I realized I would be teaching and providing counseling online from home, it was important to me to create a physical space that provided the comfort I needed to be a support to my students and clients. As a nature lover, I set up my new home office with my desk facing my back yard. I began to notice all of the birds that frequented my yard and put up bird feeders to lure my backyard friends closer to my view. I quickly began to realize how much I enjoy watching the birds; not only are they beautiful, they each seem to have their own unique personality and behavior. Each day, I spend time watching the "regulars" - the house finches, goldfinches, and cardinals - happily chirp as they feast on the seed in the feeders. I delight in periodic visits from mourning doves, downy woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and wrens. These backyard birds have given me the opportunity to slow down and appreciate the here-and-now, noticing with intent sights, sounds, and feelings. The introspection I have done has led me to discover my desire to broaden the ways in which I support the wellness of others; Songbird Wellness was born out of this aspiration. My mission through Songbird Wellness is to improve the wellness of others via psychotherapy, group support and counseling, and education. As each bird finds its own way, I am committed to helping you navigate your flight to wellness, in whatever way that journey takes shape.

Are personal stressors making it impossible to focus in a 9:00 AM lecture? Feeling a bit lost in the crowd or missing the comfort of home? Or maybe you’re a student-athlete trying to survive a brutal schedule of practices, games, and exams? If you're feeling stuck or just need a plan to get back on track, let’s talk. My goal is to help you tackle the obstacles holding you back so you can actually enjoy your time here. Reach out whenever you're ready—we can work through this together.
Hi, I’m Ainsley Rager, and I’m so glad you’re here. At True to You Counseling, I help college students reconnect with who they are beneath all the pressure to appear as though they have it all together. If you're feeling overwhelmed, questioning your worth, or trying to make sense of everything college throws your way, you’re not alone. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform or pretend. I offer warmth, support, and honest conversation as we work toward greater clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of belonging in yourself and your relationships. Clients often describe my presence as warm and calming, and say they feel at ease in our sessions. Many have shared that through our work together, they feel truly seen and more able to show up as their authentic selves in everyday life. Do you ever wonder if you’re too much, or not enough? If that question resonates, you’re not alone. I often work with college students navigating the pressures of perfectionism, the weight of needing to succeed, and the unspoken expectation to always appear “okay” even when things feel anything but. Many are facing significant changes, such as starting college, switching majors, or preparing to graduate. They may also feel stuck in confusing or unhealthy relationships, wanting more emotional connection but unsure how to ask for it, or afraid to be vulnerable. The constant pressure of social media comparisons and digital noise adds another layer of stress and self-doubt. Together, we’ll create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel comfortable exploring your feelings and experiences at your own pace. We’ll gently work on recognizing and expressing your emotions through mindfulness and reflection to help you feel more connected to yourself. I’ll be here to support you as you learn to challenge those harsh inner voices and replace them with kinder, more understanding thoughts. We’ll focus on building healthy relationships through clearer communication and setting boundaries, helping you feel more confident in your connections. Along the way, we’ll find ways to manage the stress that comes with digital life and set goals that feel meaningful to you, supporting your growth with care and understanding. If you’re ready, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Welcome to Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy! My name is Edward Chan, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy. I specialize in supporting Asian American college students and young adults as they navigate the unique challenges that can come from balancing personal goals, family expectations, cultural values, and the pressures of academic and professional success. Many Asian American students grow up carrying messages about achievement, responsibility, sacrifice, and making their families proud. While these values can be sources of strength, they can also contribute to anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, burnout, difficulty setting boundaries, and a persistent feeling of never being "good enough." You may find yourself succeeding on paper while privately struggling with stress, loneliness, imposter syndrome, or uncertainty about who you are beyond what you accomplish. Therapy offers a space to slow down and explore these experiences without judgment. Together, we can better understand the influences that have shaped you, process the challenges you're facing, and develop practical tools to manage anxiety, build self-confidence, strengthen relationships, and create a life that feels aligned with your own values—not just the expectations placed upon you. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, and insight-oriented therapy while remaining sensitive to the cultural, familial, and identity-related experiences that many Asian American students navigate. Whether you're struggling with academic pressure, family dynamics, relationships, career decisions, or your sense of belonging, you don't have to carry it alone. At Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy, I strive to create a space where the experiences that often go unspoken can be explored openly, helping you cultivate greater self-understanding, balance, and fulfillment as you navigate college and beyond.

My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can develop practical tools, gain insight, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more balanced, connected, and empowered, while having a little fun along the way!

Whether you are going through a tough time or have been grappling with an ongoing mental health concern, therapy can be a tool to help you learn more about yourself and develop strategies to better manage these challenges. In working with me, clients can expect to have a warm and non-judgmental space where they can work through personal challenges as well as work towards goals and areas of growth. Outside of work I enjoy catching a horror movie, hiking, and spending time with my diva of a cat. Some of my areas of clinical interest include, relationship and family issues, college counseling, trauma, anxiety, non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, substance use, grief & loss, and depression. I have a passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and have experience providing safe and affirming therapy for trans and non-binary clients. Finding a therapist that is a good fit for you is so important. College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to new responsibilities and life transitions, you don't have to navigate it alone. I work with female college students and young adults who want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, and feel more confident managing life's challenges. My approach is relational, compassionate, curious, and down-to-earth. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for meaningful change, and I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and accepted. I also believe there's room for humor in therapy—healing doesn't have to be serious all the time. Together, we'll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, increase self-awareness, and develop practical skills to help you manage emotions, cope with stress, and build a life that feels more aligned with your values. My goal is to help you leave therapy with greater confidence, resilience, and tools you can continue using long after our work together.

I am an LCSW with a private practice offering outpatient psychotherapy in Pa. Furnace, PA. I primarily offer teletherapy sessions but occasionally meet with clients face to face, mostly in outdoor settings. I have been practicing since 2011 and accept students, community members, and others within the state of PA. I specialize in individual therapy, though I also have experience with couples. I usually use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness framework, though many other therapeutic approaches are used as well depending on the needs of the client. As a social worker, I also offer a fair amount of casework for clients who need access to academic, employment, housing, medical, legal, and other kinds of community resources. Over the years I have found that I develop an excellent working relationship with a wide variety of clients, but particularly so with clients presenting with concerns centered on their existential and spiritual concerns as well as on their relationship with the natural world.
