At South Hills Counseling, everything we do is guided by our four core values: These principles inform not only how we approach therapy, but also how we build our team and our business. We believe we've struck a unique balance between having a warm, family-oriented feel and the professional structure of a well-run clinic. This allows us to create a comfortable environment for clients while ensuring consistent, high-quality care. 1. Always Caring. We approach every interaction with empathy and compassion. 2. Remain Committed. We're dedicated to providing consistent, high-quality care for every client. 3. Be Inspiring. We encourage growth and positive change in both our clients and our team. 4. Forever Growing. We continually evolve our practice to better serve our community. Our mission is grounded in our greater purpose—Navigating Pathways to Wellness through Growth—which guides every aspect of how we serve our clients, support our team, and build a thriving practice. Our approach focuses on providing a private practice atmosphere without the impersonal aspects sometimes found in larger clinical settings. This creates a warm, welcoming environment where healing can truly take place.

I work with students who feel stuck, stressed, or unsure about their next steps, whether it’s managing anxiety, navigating life changes, exploring identity, coping with past experiences or just wanting a space to feel seen and supported. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you can show up as your full, unique self, feel supported, and start making sense of what matters to you. Together, we’ll gain clarity, explore your goals, and develop tools to help you move forward with confidence and self-compassion. I take a thoughtful, personalized approach, combining evidence-based strategies with respect for your strengths, identity, and experiences. Therapy with me is a space to understand yourself better, tackle what’s weighing you down, and discover ways to thrive. Trauma-informed, identity-affirming, and neurodivergent-affirming care.

My approach is structured yet flexible and grounded in evidence-based practices. Together, we’ll work to better understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while building practical tools to help you feel more in control and confident in your day-to-day life. My goal is to support you in creating meaningful, lasting change—at a pace that feels right for you. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely okay to feel unsure. I’m here to meet you where you are.

Let’s face it—finding a therapist can feel a little awkward. You’re trying to choose someone you’ve never met and wondering if you’ll actually feel comfortable opening up to them. I get that. What matters most to me is that you feel like you can show up as yourself, without worrying about being judged or saying the “wrong” thing. I’ve worked with all kinds of people, and I can promise you, you don’t need to have everything together before coming to therapy. You can bring the messy stuff, the uncomfortable stuff, and the things you’re embarrassed to say out loud. I also know from my own experience with chronic health issues that sometimes life takes turns we never expected. It can be exhausting, scary, frustrating, and lonely. That experience, along with my work as a therapist, has shaped the way I connect with people going through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, health challenges, and major life transitions. Therapy with me isn’t about having all the answers or saying all the right things. We’ll start wherever you are, figure things out together, and probably even laugh sometimes along the way. My hope is that you’ll feel heard, understood, encouraged, and a little less alone in whatever you’re facing. I'm here for you.

Therapy isn’t just about getting through hard times, it’s an opportunity for you to reconnect with your own inner strength and move toward a life that feels more meaningful, grounded, and embodied. You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in a major life change, overthinking, or just tired of pretending you're okay. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Much of my work with clients involve exploring your thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences to deepen self awareness and support lasting change.

If you are looking for a therapist who offers a warm, caring and nonjudgmental approach, I may be the right fit for you. I feel passionate about the therapeutic alliance and believe it is integral in helping you become your more authentic self and meet your goals. I specialize in working with people who've experienced trauma, are going through life transitions and are struggling in their relationships with themselves or others. Hi, I'm Rachel! I'm a licensed professional counselor with nearly 10 years of experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression, and ADHD. I provide in-person therapy in Lancaster and virtual therapy across Pennsylvania. I also have expertise in helping clients manage stress, insomnia, and burnout. I enjoy helping clients identify healthy, sustainable boundaries for their life, work, and relationships. I seek to work with clients holistically and collaboratively, creating practical goals for lasting change. I use a variety of evidence-based therapies to address anxiety, depression, OCD, and insomnia, including CBT, CBT-I and ERP. I also specialize in working with clients on understanding and setting healthy work-life and relationship boundaries, managing stress, improving executive functioning, and processing life transitions. It is my goal to help you experience freedom, hope and lasting change. Therapy works not only because of scientific evidence, it also works because it's a relationship. And while relationships can break, they can also heal. I would love to hear your story, your hopes, your truth. Let's walk together on this healing journey.

Over the last 13 years of being a therapist I’ve had the privilege to meet and treat so many people, each of whom was on their own journey to better mental health and now my own career journey has led me here. I started Caim Counseling as a place for people to address their mental health so that they can be empowered to heal. I believe strongly in meeting people where they’re at and tailoring mental health care treatment to what each individual needs. I have an eclectic approach which leans towards Person-Centered therapy and have done additional work in areas like women’s issues, eating disorders, anxiety, grief, and LGBTQIA+ specific concerns. I believe strongly in the equality of all people and am committed to having an inclusive practice. I can’t wait to meet you and see how we can work together to get you to a place of better mental health.

9/21/26- Currently accepting new clients. My clinical interests include ADHD and executive functioning, forensic concerns, self-esteem and empowerment, parenting adjustment, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, boundary development, and maladaptive or abusive behavioral patterns. I work with individuals seeking greater insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing healthier coping strategies, interpersonal skills, and patterns of functioning. My approach combines practical tools with a collaborative, interactive space focused on connection and healthier relationships. I offer direct feedback, meaningful conversation, and active support while meeting clients where they are. I use humor when appropriate and strive to help clients feel understood, comfortable, and motivated for meaningful change. I have over 13 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in school based, home based, outpatient, IOP, MST, and partial hospitalization settings. I have also worked with juvenile probation and men in a state prison for six years, addressing sexual and violent offenses, domestic abuse, substance use, antisocial and high risk behaviors. I am open and affirming of individuals of every background, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

My approach cultivates empowerment through compassionate support. I fully believe that within you, resides the inherent capacity to find your way through the most difficult of circumstances. It is my perspective however, that we often just need a bit of assistance in cultivating that path. While I work with clients on a variety of issues, my specialization is in treating chronic and complex PTSD through a somatic and attachment-focused lens. ADHD, nutrition/lifestyle change, body image and self-esteem are further treatment areas of niche interest. With more than 15 years of extensive career experience as a psychotherapist and in the field of behavioral health, I have come to one solid conclusion: The path toward healing is not so much about becoming anything. Often, it is about unbecoming everything that isn’t you, so that you can be who you were truly meant to be in the first place.

I believe in the inherent worth of everyone and that people genuinely do the best they can. We all experience joys and sorrows that can impact our daily functioning. Sometimes these experiences can make us feel "stuck," but we have the power to choose how we respond. Since learning never ends, we will discuss improving your self-awareness and build your "tool box" with strategies to empower you in everyday life. A caring atmosphere will be provided to help you discover your strengths, show yourself compassion, and to find balance in your life. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, abilities, and ages. Together, we'll build a tool box, so that you're better able to deal with situations that may cause discomfort. An eclectic and solution-focused approach to counseling is used. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness approaches are used as well. As we work together, we'll discuss ways to help improve your quality of life. I enjoy helping adults dealing with mental health changes, students with disabilities, individuals struggling with transitional issues (e.g. new diagnoses, elderly parents, veganism), career counseling, grief, pet loss, and how nutrition impacts mental health. If you are interested in learning what openings are available, please call 412-354-0636 Thank you, Megan

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy for college students and young adults in the Pittsburgh area and throughout Pennsylvania via telehealth. Many of the students I work with are dealing with anxiety, academic pressure, relationship challenges, identity questions, and the stress of major life transitions. My approach to therapy is insight-oriented and collaborative. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with practical strategies drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. Therapy provides a space to better understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships while developing healthier ways of responding to stress. Students often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Together we work to clarify what is happening beneath the surface, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful change in areas such as anxiety, depression, relationships, and self-confidence. I provide both in-person sessions in Carnegie, Pennsylvania and secure online therapy throughout the U.S. via PSYPACT. Prior to private practice I trained and worked full time at five counseling counseling centers in various cities.
