I strive to create an environment where my clients can feel accepted, safe and understood. You are the expert on your life. My job is to make sure that you are utilizing all your expertise. Are you someone who feels that life has no meaning or purpose? Are feelings of depression and anxiety holding you back from finding your true potential? Many times, life transitions and sudden change can magnify these feelings of uncertainty. You are not alone. I specialize in assisting those who are uncertain of what they need or want from life. Learn ways to manage your discomfort so that you can begin to focus on what is truly important to you. The best time to consider counseling is when troubled thinking or behaviors begins to affect your daily living; jobs, friendships, family and intimate relationships. For some, these issues may be longstanding patterns that began years ago. For others, sudden changes such as a loss, crisis, trauma or addiction can trigger unfamiliar feelings that paralyze your ability to get through the day. My focus is on that voice in the head we all hear. It is the voice that shapes our perceptions of people, the world and ourselves. It is the voice that tells us that we are deficient, that life is scary, that things are never going to get better. Those thoughts are not as significant as you may believe.
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck with the situations life has thrown at you recently? Have you been unable to shake the thoughts and feelings of anxiety or depression? As a young adult, there are so many expectations being placed on you and decisions you have to make. Not to mention also trying to maintain successful relationships with friends, significant others, and family. It can all feel too much or like you’ll never be good enough. Reaching out for help can be incredibly scary, and maybe you've even tried it before, but trying something different can be just the change needed for you to finally begin down a new path. You deserve to feel in control again, have self-confidence, and feel content in your relationships with peers, family, and loved ones. When we work together, you can expect a comfortable environment where you feel accepted, understood, and heard. Once you are ready, we can start working to gain a better understanding of what is overwhelming you or keeping you stuck. You’ll develop the skills you need to tackle those challenges. My work and experience have allowed me to aid individuals in many age brackets. I am able to be adaptable to meet the needs of the individuals in front of me. While I specialize in treating Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders and traumas, I have the capacity to assist with a range of issues and problems people may present with. I am working on national certification in EMDR and work to use this approach to help others suffering from traumatic experiences to move forward. I want to be able to understand my clients to build trust and connection. Much of the beginning sessions are spent building this through clear expectations.
