Therapists for college students near Philadelphia, PA
I am a licensed professional counselor who has a straightforward approach that is combined with empathy and understanding. I will take a person where they are, not where I want them to be or where others tell them they should be. I have worked for the past 10+ years with individuals who experience a combination of symptoms/stressors. I have worked with many different individuals with varying diagnoses, to include depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, trauma, and personality disorders. I use a combination of therapies to be most effective in approaching treatment with others. I do not take walk-in appointments, and I am best reached by email or texting. I do offer free 20-minute phone-consultations for any person looking to explore therapy and still has questions or concerns.
My practice is comprised of 3 independently licensed clinicians. Each have over 14 years experience. We have a proven track record helping those struggling with depression and anxiety take back control of their lives. We offer both in office and telehealth sessions.
I work best with students who may seem like they have it together but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or exhausted underneath. You might overthink everything, put pressure on yourself, try to keep everyone happy, or feel responsible for holding it all together. Many of my clients are navigating trauma, complicated family relationships, grief, identity, or major life changes. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent students, creatives, caregivers, and people who are used to being the strong one. You do not need to know exactly what is wrong or where to begin. We can figure that out together.
I have been a licensed psychologist for over 15 years. I have worked with many young adults and college students, and helped them navigate transitions during this time of life. I strive to treat the needs of each client individually and form a collaborative relationship that makes it easy to get the support you need and speak freely. I offer both in person and online therapy so you can access help right from school or home. I am able to provide out of state telehealth if you are located in or travel to another state. Email or contact me through my website for more information. I look forward to meeting you!
My passion is to help you learn about mental health and how to better manage any mental health symptoms. I am proficient at helping you manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, adjustment, relationship issues, time management, public speaking, etc. I am honored to be the one you choose to improve your mental health. Let's get to work!
My practice supports students coping with the many challenges of adjustment to college life. I aim to help students achieve their academic/professional and social goals, while remaining true to their identities and interests. Through therapy, I help my clients understand that achievement does not mean sacrificing who you are. Together we focus on clarifying personal goals, identity development, and adjustment to new freedoms and environments. I have special interest in working with first generation, racially/ethnically diverse, LGBTQ+, and immigrant students.

Prior to opening my practice, I worked with college students for four years in various college counseling centers. I enjoy working with this population, as it is a time for challenge, growth, and change. I identify as a generalist, and have specialized skills in the treatment of trauma and PTSD, anxiety disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. In addition, I have significant experience in working with relationship concerns, grief and loss, women's issues, and life transitions. In my practice, I draw from many evidence-based theories and interventions including Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe the therapeutic alliance is the foundation of treatment, and therefore work to establish and maintain an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where patients feel safe, heard, and supported. Ultimately, a strong therapeutic relationship leads to an ability to challenge patients to achieve their goals, reach their fullest potential, and create lasting change. I am aware of the privilege it is to be on this journey with my patients, and I bring my authentic self and expertise to each session.

Relationships are both the most difficult and the most rewarding things about being human, and they are HARD! I believe very strongly in the power of relationships to heal as well as hurt. At times, people just want to have a conversation and we put off going to counseling, because honestly we tell ourselves that this other thing is just a little bit more important, a bit more pressing. We forget to invest in ourselves. Life is tough, there is no doubt about that; but why go through it alone. Let me be that person for you to aid you through those tough times or I can simply be that someone that you talk with. For a free consultation, learn more about my practice, or set up a counseling appointment, please go to www.thelotuscounselor.com or call (610) 699-9475. Hello! My goal is for you to feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn, grow and overcome current obstacles to be your best self. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with college students. As an adjunct professor, I understand the academic stressors that college students face. I enjoy teaching skills that can be used to help regulate overwhelming emotions, communicate more effectively, and improve meaningful relationships.
Hi, I’m Ainsley Rager, and I’m so glad you’re here. At True to You Counseling, I help college students reconnect with who they are beneath all the pressure to appear as though they have it all together. If you're feeling overwhelmed, questioning your worth, or trying to make sense of everything college throws your way, you’re not alone. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform or pretend. I offer warmth, support, and honest conversation as we work toward greater clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of belonging in yourself and your relationships. Clients often describe my presence as warm and calming, and say they feel at ease in our sessions. Many have shared that through our work together, they feel truly seen and more able to show up as their authentic selves in everyday life. Do you ever wonder if you’re too much, or not enough? If that question resonates, you’re not alone. I often work with college students navigating the pressures of perfectionism, the weight of needing to succeed, and the unspoken expectation to always appear “okay” even when things feel anything but. Many are facing significant changes, such as starting college, switching majors, or preparing to graduate. They may also feel stuck in confusing or unhealthy relationships, wanting more emotional connection but unsure how to ask for it, or afraid to be vulnerable. The constant pressure of social media comparisons and digital noise adds another layer of stress and self-doubt. Together, we’ll create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel comfortable exploring your feelings and experiences at your own pace. We’ll gently work on recognizing and expressing your emotions through mindfulness and reflection to help you feel more connected to yourself. I’ll be here to support you as you learn to challenge those harsh inner voices and replace them with kinder, more understanding thoughts. We’ll focus on building healthy relationships through clearer communication and setting boundaries, helping you feel more confident in your connections. Along the way, we’ll find ways to manage the stress that comes with digital life and set goals that feel meaningful to you, supporting your growth with care and understanding. If you’re ready, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
