Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
As we journey through life, even in our most painful moments it can still feel like a huge risk to seek help from a new place. That is why I strive to provide a therapy experience for my clients that honors that risk. An experience where you are able to show up as your authentic self and work towards personal growth alongside someone who is attuned to your thoughts, feelings, and needs. Across my time, I have worked primarily with college students as well as a wide variety of adults in age and background often struggling with anxiety, depression, stress management, emotion regulation, identity development, family of origin concerns, relationship concerns, life transitions and more. My approach to therapy hinges on creating a strong therapeutic relationship that can serve as a safe haven for my clients. To me this means a relationship where you can feel seen and accepted as you are and where, with the support of another, you can process and manage experiences and emotions that may have felt too confusing, overwhelming, or frightening to do alone. From this base of safety, we’ll venture out to understand together the emotional, relational, systemic, and other factors that have contributed to the roots of your current concerns and the cycles and stuck places you may be caught in. My hope is to not only help you build the skills to manage your present distress and reach your goals, but to also help you move towards a life of greater emotional balance, self-compassion, and secure connections with others. Wherever you are at in your life journey, I consider it a real gift to meet you there and be a source of support in this time!

Everyone deserves support, however they arrive — color-coded planner in hand or running five minutes late with coffee spilled down their shirt. Anxious, calm, talkative, quiet, existentially confused — you’re welcome here. The bigger question is really: Am I your kind of therapist? You might read my profile and think, “She gets me,” or, “Why is she so emotionally invested in foxes and axolotls?” Either way, I promise I’m still licensed. I’m an LPC-MHSP, LCPC with over nine years of experience. I mainly work with PTSD, OCD, DV/SA, and BPD. I also see a range of other concerns—because humans are complex, and the universe did not consult the DSM before handing out life experiences. People usually open up more when they don’t feel pressure to perform or deliver a TED Talk about their feelings. Autonomy matters to me. You get to ask questions, collaborate on your treatment, and arrive exactly as you are — glamorously put-together or held together by three bobby pins and sheer willpower. If you need to laugh, cry, swear, or take a strategic pause while your soul hits “buffering,” that’s part of the process. Life gets messy… it's real and unfiltered. *** I schedule by appt so I do not have posted hours. Please just reach out. I am flexible!
Hi, thanks for stopping by! I value a person-centered approach that is tailored to your unique needs. I am invested in cultivating a warm and gentle environment for you to feel comfortable bringing your full self to sessions. I work with both adults and adolescents, and can see clients in person or over telehealth. I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Ball State University, where I worked with college students in a university counseling setting. My background includes addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, identity development, and relationship concerns. I've supported individuals in processing intense emotions, building positive strategies for improving mental health, and building compassion for all parts of self. I also have a strong commitment to supporting individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. I look forward to joining you on your path to healing and growth.

My primary goal in therapy is to create a nonjudgmental, safe space for expressing feelings and emotions. I am deeply committed to helping children aged 8 and older with issues related to school, peers, anxiety, executive functioning, and self-esteem through play therapy. Additionally, I enjoy supporting young adults as they navigate life transitions, depression, and anxiety. I am a dedicated therapist passionate about enhancing the well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults. Each client I have worked with has enriched my understanding of resilience, courage, and the importance of human connections. I am eager to use my skills to help young individuals not only overcome challenges but also thrive. When life goes differently than anticipated you may be left grieving, feeling disconnected from life, or from yourself. You deserve to have a compassionate space to process and honor your experiences. Together, we'll explore the narratives woven through your life, understanding how past experiences continue to shape your present reality. We will reconnect you to your power, build resiliency, and learn to use your voice to live your life more authentically. With a relationship built with trust and compassion, you're invited to explore your deepest truths, express your fears, and bravely write a new story for your life. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and your voice, experiences, and perspective are central to our work together. Depending on your needs, we'll examine how family, gender, culture, and social expectations have influenced your sense of self, relationships, and aspirations. I draw from a variety of frameworks including Feminist, Narrative, and Family Systems. Reaching out is hard. If it scares you, you're not alone. You may try considering if your fear is saying "now's not the right time" or if its something more akin to "what will this change in my life". Curiosity, excitement, & the adrenaline of taking "the next step" can feel scary. Whatever you decide, trust you're right on time in your own journey.
Hi, I am Marilyn: A dual board certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner that is passionate about holistic and integrative health practices as the foundations for sustainable health and wellness. I blend traditional medication management psychiatry with functional and integrative approaches that get to the root of your challenges—not just the symptoms. My care goes beyond medication. We’ll explore how nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, and relationships impact your mental health, and together, we'll create a plan that fits your life and goals. I help adolescents, young adults, and mid-career professionals overwhelmed from cycles of anxiety, depression, and trauma —so they can feel calm, focused, and whole again. Through an integrative approach—blending medication management, therapy, supplements, and lifestyle coaching—I guide my clients in quieting negative self-talk and reclaiming their confidence, clarity, purpose, and joy. I also combine evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to learn how your thoughts, feelings and behavior impact each other. Together, we will use this knowledge to shift unhelpful thought patterns, build motivation, and take empowered steps forward—at your own pace. Clients describe me as compassionate, curious, holistic and grounded. I listen deeply, hold space without judgment, and work collaboratively so you feel seen, supported, and in control of your healing journey. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, holistic and integrative approach to mental wellness that honors both science and your story—you’re in the right place. Let’s work together to restore clarity, balance, and peace from the inside out.
Hello! My name is Nikole, and I provide specialized OCD therapy for college students and young adults. I also work with individuals with tics, skin-picking, hair pulling, and other related conditions. I may be a good fit for you if you struggle with intrusive unwanted thoughts, feel like you need follow specific mental or physical rituals to feel "ok," or avoid situations that trigger your fears. OCD often targets areas that feel shameful and can make people wonder if they are going crazy, but it is very treatable with the correct type of therapy. Clients who work with me are motivated to work hard on their therapy homework between sessions because they want to get better as fast as possible and get back to living their lives and pursuing their goals.
